WAIPAHU
$1,500 scholarships available to 10 high school seniors

Ten scholarships of $1,500 each will be awarded by the Waipahu Community Foundation to high school seniors who live in the Waipahu ZIP code and are pursuing higher education opportunities.

Applicants need not attend Waipahu High School, but must apply at the Waipahu High School counselor's office by May 5 to be eligible. A review will be held May 6; final interviews will be conducted May 13.

This quarter, the foundation awarded $19,962 for youth-related projects to: Waipahu Elementary School ($1,920), Kanoelani Elementary School ($4,777), Friends of Waipahu Public Library ($1,900), Lighthouse Outreach Center ($4,250), Waipahu Community Association's Project Graduation ($4,250) and Na Pa'ani Softball ($2,865).
