Comments sought on HPD's accreditation compliance

Public comments are being sought as part of an accreditation assessment of the Honolulu Police Department.

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies will accept comments beginning at 7 p.m. April 27 at the HPD Career Center, 715 South King St., Suite 500. Telephone comments will be taken at 599-0050 from 12:30-4:30 p.m. that day.

Testimony and phone calls will be limited to 10 minutes and must address HPD's ability to comply with CALEA accreditation standards, which include HPD policies and procedures, administration, operations and services. A copy of the standards is available at HPD's Office of Accreditation, 820 South Beretania St., from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
