KAMA'AINA DISCOUNT AT WATER PARK

Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park is marking its 10th anniversary with a kama'aina discount today through May 10, and other special offers.

The discount drops the price of an adult ticket to $19.99 from the regular $39.99. Admission for ages 3-11 also drops to $19.99, from the $29.99 regular price.

The park has more than 25 rides and attractions, including the mighty Tornado, kids' splash 'n' spray areas, a giant wave pool, the extreme Shaka and the Da Flowrider surfing experience.


HAWAIIAN AIR MOST PUNCTUAL IN FEB.

Hawaiian Airlines had the nation's best on-time performance and fewest flight cancellations in February, according to a U.S. Department of Transportation report.

Hawaiian led the industry in punctuality, with 91.2 percent of its flights arriving as scheduled during the month.

The state's largest carrier also was No. 1 in fewest flight cancellations. Out of 5,658 total flights in February, only eight were canceled — a rate of 0.1 percent.

Hawaiian ranked second with 2.13 mishandled baggage reports for every 1,000 passengers served.


GASOLINE PRICE INCHES UP 3 CENTS

The average price of a gallon of gasoline statewide rose 3 cents this week to $2.46, AAA Hawaii reported.

In Honolulu, the average price was $2.37 a gallon, up 1 cent from last week.

In Hilo, the average price was $2.58, up 9 cents from a week ago.

The average price in Wailuku of $2.66 was 3 cents more than a week ago.


UH-MANOA IN VA NURSING PROGRAM

The University of Hawai'i-Manoa is one of five universities that have established partnerships with the Department of Veterans Affairs for VA nursing academies.

The program expands learning opportunities for nursing students at VA facilities and funds faculty development.

The VA Nursing Academy program began in 2007 and now has 10 partnerships.
