Yamada's RBI single in 10th lifts Rainbow Wahine past Utah State, 4-3

Stacey Yamada singled to right-center field to score Richie-Ann Titcomb in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift Hawai'i to a 4-3 victory over Utah State today in the first game of a Western Athletic Conference softball doubleheader at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

The Rainbow Wahine are 19-20 overall and 7-4 in the WAC. Utah State is 13-8 and 6-3.

With one out in the bottom of the 10th, Audrey Andrade walked and Titcomb replaced her as a pinch-runner. Traci Yoshikawa doubled to left-center field moving Titcomb to third. After Kanani Pu'u-Warren walked, Yamada hit her game-winning single.

Yamada went 2 for 2 including 2 RBI, while Tanisha Milca was 2 for 3.

Stephanie Ricketts (14-7, 7-2 WAC) pitched six innings in relief for the victory, striking out five and walking two.
