Hawaii weather: Mostly sunny today

Breezy trade winds are expected for the first half of the work week, the National Weather Service said.

Showers will be mainly focused over windward and mountain areas, forecasters said.

By Thursday, a slow-moving cold front will inch south towards the state.

This front will dissipate north of the island chain by the end of the week, resulting in light and variable winds and a chance of showers over the interior of most islands.

Here's how the start of the new week is shaping up:

Today...Mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 75 to 84. East winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight...Partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 60 to 73. Northeast winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tuesday...Mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 76 to 84. East winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tuesday Night...Partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 59 to 72. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Wednesday...Mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 76 to 84. East winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Wednesday Night...Partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 63 to 71. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
