Kauai motorcyclist injured in crash medevaced to Queen's

LIHUE — A 58-year-old Anahola man was airlifted to The Queen's Medical Center on Oahu last night after the motorcycle he was riding was struck by a pick-up truck.

Frank Medeiros Jr. was in stable condition at Queen's. His passenger, a 34-year-old Princeville woman, was in good condition at wilcox Hospital in Lihue.

Medeiros was heading east on Kaumuali'i Highway in Puhi at around 7:05 p.m when his motorcycle was struck by a pick-up truck making a left turn onto Nani St.

The driver of the pick-up truck was Antonio Bernabe, 68, of Puhi. He was not injured.

The east-bound lane of Kaumualii Highway was re-routed to Puhi Road for about 30 minutes after the accident while police investigated.
