In connection with Earth Day, the Disney Store has introduced an assortment of environmentally friendly T-shirts and tote bags made from Sustainable Solutions Group's RETHINK fabric, a new textile created from recycled water bottles. ART CONTEST

WIN CASH WITH ENERGY-SAVING DESIGN

Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann is holding an art contest this month to promote energy conservation, as part of the city's Earth Month events.

The Energy Savings Contest will judge the artwork and creativity of O'ahu residents who pick up a paintbrush or colored pens to design a light-switch cover that conveys a message to "reduce electrical use." Entrants must use a slogan with a green message.

The contest runs through April 30, and is presented by the Mayor's 21st Century Ahupua'a and the Department of Customer Services in partnership with Aloha Pacific Federal Credit Union, with prizes of $25 to $100.
