State tax revenue down 6.3% so far this fiscal year

The state's general fund tax revenues fell $214.1 million, or 6.3 percent, in the first nine months of the fiscal year compared with the same period a year earlier.

The state Department of Taxation reported today that general excise and use tax revenues are down 6.9 percent so far this fiscal year.

Hotel room tax collections are down 8.6 percent, and individual income tax collections are down 32.2 percent.
