Shidler College teams to pitch business ideas

Three teams from the University of Hawaii's Shidler College of Business will pitch their ideas for new businesses next week during a competition judged by a panel of venture capitalists, business consultants and others.

The event will be held Thursday at the monthly luncheon meeting of the Hawaii Venture Capital Association. Judges, including Rob Robinson of Kolohala Venture Fund and Kevin Robinson and Chenoa Farnsworth of Hawaii Angels, will critique the presentations and the audience will then vote on whether they would invest in the business. Prizes will be provided by Grant Thornton.

The participants are members of the Entrepreneurs Club at the Shidler College of Business. The event is set for 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Plaza Club. Register at www.hvca.org or call 262-7329.
