Three Isle authors in reading at Hawaii State Library event

Three Isle authors will appear Saturday in the Hawaii State Library's "Two Poets and a Novelist: A Reading" event.

It begins at 2 p.m. in the first floor reading room.

This free program, sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hawaii, and the Hawaii Center for the Book, is recommended for high school students through adults.

The authors, who are also instructors at Honolulu Community College, include:

— Brenda Kwon, poet and Co-Editor of "YOBO: Korean American Writing in Hawaii."

— Chris McKinney, novelist of "The Tattoo," "Queen of Tears," "Bolohead Row" and "Mililani Mauka."

— Eric Paul Shaffer, poet and novelist of "Lahaina Noon," "Portable Planet" and "Burn & Learn."

A question-and-answer session will conclude the program.
