Hawaii weather: Sunny this morning, showers later

Winds across the state will remain light through the weekend, with daytime sea breezes and nighttime land breezes becoming more prominent, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Expect clouds and showers to develop over the interior of the islands mainly during the afternoon hours, forecasters said.

Trade winds may return early next week.

Here is a closer look at what to expect during the weekend:

Today...Mostly sunny in the morning then becoming mostly cloudy. Isolated showers. Highs 76 to 82. Light winds becoming south around 10 mph in the late morning and afternoon. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight...Partly cloudy. Isolated showers in the evening. Lows 62 to 71. Light winds. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Saturday...Mostly sunny. Isolated showers in the afternoon. Locally heavy rainfall possible in the afternoon. Highs 76 to 81. Light winds becoming south around 10 mph in the late morning and afternoon. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Saturday Night...Mostly clear. Isolated showers in the evening. Lows 62 to 71. Light winds. Chance of rain 20 percent.
