Hawaii trade professionals urged to renew licenses online

More than 25,000 of Hawai'i nurses, acupuncturists and plumbers can renew their licenses online and the state Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs is encouraging them to do so.

The state department offers a 25 percent customer appreciation credit on the renewal fee for all licenses renewed online at pvl.ehawaii.gov/renewals.

Those professionals able to renew online include: acupuncturist; registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, advanced practice registered nurse recognition, journeyman plumber and master plumber.

During the 2007 renewal cycle, more than 13,000 professional license holders — about 67 percent — renewed online.

Instructions for completing the online renewal have been mailed to each current license holder. Online renewals will be accepted until midnight on June 30. After that date, renewals will not be accepted online and persons wishing to renew their license must submit the forms by mail or in person to:
