State unclaimed property program will be at Spring New Products Show

Advertiser Staff

The state's Unclaimed Property Outreach program will be participating in the 2009 Spring New Products Show at Blaisdell Center this weekend.

The state holds in safekeeping approximately $142 million in unclaimed property such as dormant savings and checking accounts, unclaimed inheritances, shares of stock, uncashed payroll checks, uncashed dividend checks, deposits held by utilities, insurance and medical refunds, and safe deposit box contents.

Workers will be at the new products show to help conduct searches for unclaimed property, file claims or answer questions regarding the program.

Searches can also be conducted online at www.unclaimedproperty.hawaii.gov or by calling the Unclaimed Property Program at 586-1589.

The new products show runs Friday through Sunday.

There is no charge for seeking help from the unclaimed property program, but there is a $3 admission to the new products show.
