Walgreen's opens pharmacy-only store in Waipahu

Advertiser Staff

The expansion of Walgreens in Hawai'i took another small step on Monday with the opening of a small pharmacy-only store in Waipahu.

The 1,188-square-foot pharmacy opened in a medical office complex at 94-307 Farrington Highway No. B-7B, across from the Waipahu Shopping Plaza anchored by Savers.

Walgreens pharmacy-only stores provide prescription services and limited over-the-counter health items. The Waipahu store is the first pharmacy-only site on O'ahu for the company, which opened four similar stores in December and January on Maui.

The drug store retailer also has three full-service stores on O'ahu in Kane'ohe, Kalihi and near Ala Moana Center. A fourth full-size Walgreens is slated to open in Kailua in May.

The Waipahu store is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
