Only green waste accepted today at transfer station

Kaua'i County's Kapa'a transfer station will not accept trash, appliances, scrap metal or used motor oil today due to repair work being done on a broken water line on Kahi Road, which leads to the entrance of the facility.

Only green waste will be accepted today because the drop-off area is located on Apopo Road, which is not affected by the repair work.

Kapa'a residents who need to dispose of other trash today can bring their items to the Lihu'e or Hanalei transfer stations.

Normal hours of operation at the Kapa'a transfer station will resume tomorrow. Hours are 7:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. daily, except for county holidays.
