CFB: Washington State won't seek Apple Cup at Qwest

Associated Press

SPOKANE, Wash. — Officials at Washington State University will no longer pursue playing Apple Cup football games at Qwest Field in Seattle.

School president Elson Floyd and Athletic Director Jim Sterk said a proposal to play the next three WSU home games against rival Washington at Qwest Field is dead.

They said in a press release that agreement could not be reached on how to maintain a neutral-site atmosphere at the game.
