Thousands of people jammed Kalakaua Avenue this afternoon for the 2009 Waikiki Spam Jam, and more just kept coming.

The festival will be open until 10 p.m. It features food booths, live entertainment, and, of course, Spam.

Kalakaua was closed in the vicinity of the Royal Hawaiian hotel.

Proceeds from the food booths go to help the Hawaii Foodbank.
