Kurt Suzuki drives in three runs in Athletics' victory over Tampa Bay

Associated Press

OAKLAND, Calif. — Kurt Suzuki drove in three runs, Dana Eveland pitched into the sixth inning and the Oakland Athletics beat the Tampa Bay Rays 7-1 today.

Every Oakland starter got at least one hit and seven different players scored for the A's, who won their second straight after a season-high five-game skid.

Suzuki, a Baldwin High alum from Wailuku, Maui, hit a two-run double in the second and drew a bases-loaded walk off Andy Sonnanstine in the fifth to force in another run.

After failing to make it out of the fourth in each of his previous two starts, Eveland (1-1) allowed one run and four hits in 5 2-3 innings. Michael Wuertz, Santiago Casilla and Russ Springer combined to finish the four-hitter.
