Hawaii surf: 3 to 5 feet likely on North Shore

Advertiser Staff

Surf of 3 to 5 feet is expected along Oahu's North Shore today, the National Weather Service said.

In other areas, expect surf of 2 to 3 feet along west-facing shores; 2 to 4 feet along east-facing shores; and 1 to 3 feet with occasionally higher sets along south-facing shores.

Outlook through Saturday, May 2: A new north-northwest swell is forecast to arrive Tuesday, peak late Wednesday, then slowly lower through Friday. Surf heights are expected to remain below the high surf advisory thresholds along north- and west-facing shores during this swell.

A moderate swell is expected to arrive from the southern hemisphere on Wednesday. Surf heights produced by this swell are expected to peak along south-facing shores on Thursday, then gradually diminish Friday and Saturday.
