Hawaii weather: A few light showers likely today

It may be a bit cloudy over the western end of the island chain today, the result of a weak front moving through, the National Weather Service said.

The front is expected to slowly make it' s way over Oahu later today, and over Maui county on Wednesday, as it continues to weaken, forecasters said.

Light to moderate trade winds are expected behind the front with drier than normal weather.

Here's how the middle of the work week is shaping up:

Today: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 77. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Scattered showers, mainly after 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Wednesday: Scattered showers, mainly before noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 79. North wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday Night: Isolated showers before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. North wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Thursday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 79. North wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Thursday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. East wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
