Three Oahu harbors to receive $5 million in stimulus funds

Three harbors on Oahu will received nearly $5 million in stimulus funding for operations and maintenance repairs, U.S. Sens. Daniel K. Inouye and Daniel K. Akaka said today.

Haleiwa Small Boat Harbor ($3.1 million) and Waianae Small Boat Harbor ($1.5 million) will receive funds for maintenance dredging to their entrance channels.

With 50,000 visitors annually, Barbers Point Harbor will receive $348,000 to upgrade its visitor center exhibits, replace its air conditioner system, and renovate it restrooms.
