LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Rebel Stakes winner Win Willy is out of the Kentucky Derby.

Trainer Mac Robertson scratched the 3-year-old colt from Saturday's Run for the Roses after X-rays revealed a possible crack in the horse's left front ankle.

Win Willy burst onto the Derby scene in an upset at the Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn, knocking off Old Fashioned as a 56-1 longshot.

Jockey Cliff Berry of Jones, Okla., was to have the mount on Win Willy. It was to be the first time riding in the Kentucky Derby for Berry, the winningest jockey at Oklahoma City's Remington Park.

Robertson said the horse was being examined Tuesday as a precaution when the crack was noticed and that Win Willy will be given a few months off to recuperate.
