Almost $5M in stimulus funding going to 3 harbors

Three harbors on O'ahu will received nearly $5 million in federal stimulus funding for operations and maintenance repairs, U.S. Sens. Daniel K. Inouye and Daniel K. Akaka said yesterday.

Hale'iwa Small Boat Harbor ($3.1 million) and Wai'anae Small Boat Harbor ($1.5 million) will receive money for maintenance dredging to their entrance channels.

With 50,000 visitors annually, Barbers Point Harbor will receive $348,000 to upgrade its visitor center exhibits, replace its air conditioner system and renovate it restrooms.
