State officials announce mouflon sheep hunting days

State officials say this year's Lana'i mouflon sheep season will consist of three hunts.

The Department of Land and Natural Resources says the archery-only hunt will be held over eight consecutive days, July 25-Aug. 1.

The muzzle-loading hunt will be conducted Aug. 8 and 15.

Officials say the general rifle hunt will be held over nine consecutive Saturdays, beginning Aug. 22 and ending Oct. 17.

The bag limit for the season will be one sheep per hunter, regardless of equipment used. All ram heads must be turned in at the hunter check station.
