Supermodel-turned-TV host Tyra Banks, facing the man accused of stalking her, testified yesterday that she feared for her safety when she learned he had entered the New York City building where her show tapes.

Banks, 35, said her staff would not let her leave the building on March 18 of last year because Brady Green, a stranger to her, had shown up.

When police arrived, the former Sports Illustrated cover girl said, "I told them I was scared. I didn't know what to do. How do I live my life when I leave this building? I had never experienced anything like this before."

Police arrested Green, of Dublin, Ga., in a McDonald's near Banks' studio in Manhattan. Police said he told them he had come from Los Angeles on a bus to see Banks and that "we had a thing together."

Green, 39, is on trial in Manhattan on misdemeanor charges of stalking, harassment and criminal trespass.

USHER PROMOTES BOYS & GIRLS CLUB

Grammy-winning artist Usher credits the Boys & Girls Club of America for making a difference in his life, so he lent the group a slightly embarrassing photo of himself as a 7-year-old.

"I can only imagine how many accidents are going to happen in result of this being here," the 30-year-old joked yesterday about a new billboard on one of Atlanta's busiest streets.

With about 20 kids surrounding him, Usher unveiled the billboard with his likeness to raise awareness of the club.

APPLEGATE COVER GIRL FOR MOST BEAUTIFUL

A smiling Christina Applegate is featured on the cover of People magazine's Most Beautiful issue, which hits stands tomorrow.

The 37-year-old actress, who recently battled breast cancer, says she's finally found her "perfect type" in her new beau, Dutch musician Martyn Lenoble.

Applegate had a double mastectomy in July and later reconstructive surgery. The star of ABC's "Samantha Who?" calls Lenoble an "angel" who loves her "from head to toe."

According to Applegate, Lenoble has been her "rock" and gave her reason to live — and smile.

The annual Most Beautiful issue features 100 famous faces, including Michelle Obama, Zac Efron and Cindy Crawford, posing without makeup.

LANE GARRISON RELEASED ON PAROLE

Lane Garrison, who was serving 40 months for a drunken-driving crash that killed a 17-year-old Beverly Hills High School student, has been released from prison.

The former "Prison Break" actor was paroled and picked up at 3:50 a.m. yesterday from the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi, Calif., an official said.

A December 2006 crash that rammed his Land Rover into a tree killed Vahagn Setian and injured two teen girls. Garrison pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter, drunken driving and giving alcohol to a minor.
