NFL: Harvin agrees to 5-year deal with Vikings

Associated Press

MANKATO, Minn. — The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms with first-round draft pick Percy Harvin on a five-year deal.

Harvin, a receiver out of Florida, missed the first two days of training camp while his agent negotiated a contract. But Joel Segal says his client will be ready to go for the Vikings' afternoon practice Sunday.

Coach Brad Childress has said that it was important for Harvin, the 22nd overall pick in April's draft, to get into camp as soon as possible. He'll be asked to play a variety of roles for the Vikings this season, including receiver, running back and as a return man.
