Volunteers invited to community clean-up day

A community group is planning a clean-up of trash and graffiti around Kane'ohe on Saturday.

The Malama 96744 Care for the Community Campaign will hold the Graffiti Paint-Out and Clean-Up Day from 8 to 11 a.m.. After meeting at Kane'ohe District Park, teams will be dispersed to paint out graffiti and pick up trash throughout the 96744 ZIP code.

Paint and painting supplies will be available, but participants are also asked to bring any rollers, brushes or other painting equipment they have to help the effort. A free lunch will be served at the park for volunteers.

The campaign is sponsored by a coalition of youth, nonprofit organizations, churches, businesses, schools, the Department of Parks and Recreation and citizens. For more information about Malama 96744, call 235-7747.
