Autopsy to be conducted in death of man found at H-Power plant

Advertiser Staff

Honolulu police are investigating the discovery of a body last evening at the city’s H-Power plant in Kapolei.

Homicide detail Lt. William Kato said the body appears to be that of a heavy-set local man more than 6 feet tall.
There were no immediate signs of foul play, and an autopsy is scheduled for this morning to determine the cause of death and to identify the body.
Due to the condition of the body, investigators were not immediately able to estimate how old the man was, Kato said.
The case has tentatively been classified as an unattended death.
Police received a call shortly before 7:30 p.m. after someone reported finding a body on the grounds of the garbage-to-energy H-Power plant.
