Remote-control aircraft top feature at weekend airshow

Advertiser Staff

The Pacific Aviation Museum-Pearl Harbor this weekend is offering its second "Biggest Little Airshow on Ford Island."

The airshow will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow and Sunday. There will be more than 150 remote-control aircraft in the air and on static display.

Due to the popularity of the initial event in March, the August show has been expanded, with 150 planes and helicopters, lots of dogfights and warbird re-enactments, the museum said.

The flight line opens at 10 a.m. The aerial demonstrations are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Admission to the airshow is via a museum general admission ticket, which costs $14 for adults and $7 for children. Kama'aina admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Children 4 and under and the military are free.

Tickets can be purchased at www.PacificAviationMuseum.org or at the USS Bowfin ticket office. Shuttles depart every 20 minutes, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., for Ford Island.
