City job postings on Craigslist are false

Advertiser Staff

The city Department of Human Resources yesterday warned job seekers about fraudulent city government job announcements posted on Craigslist.

The listings are described as for City and County of Honolulu jobs, but the Department of Human Resources does not post its vacancies on Craigslist.

The Honolulu Police Department has been requested to investigate the matter.

Job applicants should not provide information or respond to any city job postings on Craigslist as such information could be used for identity theft purposes.

City jobs are listed on the city's official Web site (www.honolulu.gov/hr) or in daily newspapers. City job applications do not ask people to disclose their Social Security numbers.

HPD SEEKS HELP TO IDENTIFY MAN'S BODY

The Honolulu Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying the body of a man found at the H-Power plant at Campbell Industrial Park Thursday night.

The man was described as 5 feet 9 to 5 feet 11, 120 to 160 pounds, with a slim build. He is bald and has tattoos on both shoulders and upper arms. He was wearing black Bermuda shorts.

Police classified the case as an unattended death and are awaiting autopsy results.

Police received a call shortly before 7:30 p.m. Thursday after someone reported finding a body on the grounds of the plant.
