Maui folks were seeing double when Cole and Dylan Sprouse — the twins on the Disney Channel fave "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" — dined with pals a few days back at Cheeseburger Island Style in Wailea. The bros turned 17 on Aug. 4 and now star on the spinoff "The Suite Life on Deck" ...

On O'ahu, burger biters recognized Ken Leung, who portrays Miles Straume, the hot-headed ghost whisperer, on the Isle-filmed ABC series "Lost," at Cheeseburger Waikiki Beach. ...

THE LOCAL ANGLE: It's been a homecoming for Janel Parrish, Isle actress, starring in director Chuck Mitsui's "One Kine Day" film. "I had to work on my pidgin for the role," says Parrish, now a Californian in pursuit of a film career. "I've forgotten how much I love it here."...

And congrats to local boy (and ex-entertainer) Kevin Iwamoto, who will receive the National Business Travel Association's Industry Icon Award at the 2009 NBTA International Convention & Exposition this month in San Diego. Iwamoto, vice president of enterprise strategy at San Jose-based StarCite since December 2008, has been an advocate of business travel and was a key figure speaking out against the negative perception of biz travel in light of proposed congressional legislation limiting these activities affecting destinations like Hawai'i. Iwamoto's blog now is syndicated by The Beat, a business-travel Web site, and was quoted last month in The New York Times. ...

Marlene Sai will be on PBS Hawai'i's "Long Story Short With Leslie Wilcox" in a two-parter at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 18 (repeating at 11 p.m. Aug. 19 and 4 p.m. Aug. 23) and at 7:30 pm. Aug. 25 (repeating at 11 p.m. Aug. 26). ...

TRAVEL LOG: Hapa (Barry Flanagan, Nathan Aweau), Ledward Ka'apana and Jonn Cruz performed for 4,000 at Roseburg, Ore.'s "Music on the Half Shell" concert. More gigs followed in California and at Lake Tahoe. ...

Nohelani Cypriano, a Wednesday regular at the Hale Koa Hotel, has fond memories of a trek to Iraq with her hula dancers and entertainer Sonya Mendez. Representing the Great Aloha Run at six military installations, they brought Island music, dance and kau kau to the troops, rode in Blackhawk copters and cargo planes. "My suitcase flew out of the Blackhawk at 2,000 feet when we left Baghdad ... and they were able to find it in the middle of the desert — and retrieve it," says Cypriano. The trip gave Cypriano a deeper appreciation for the soldiers' role "to preserve our freedom." Next up: a "Pulelehua" CD this month, dedicated to her late mom Leina'ala Simerson, and a fall TV special. ...

CULTURAL BRIDGE: Keith Haugen is receiving good buzz for his "He Pa'ipunahele no Tenno Heika," which honors the emperor of Japan, especially since he and wife Carmen Haugen were on the August cover of Hawaiian Wave, a Japanese monthly on Hawaiian music and hula (www.ratspack.com/hawaii/index.html).

Congrats and queries loaded his inbox; some asked why the tune can't be bought on CD (downloads are free at www.hawaiian song.com); one gal posted it on Facebook; and Haugen said "the cutest response was a dancer who asked 'Can we dance hula to a song honoring the emperor?' " Why not? ...

"We have sent it to the grand steward secretariat of the Imperial Household Agency ... I keep hoping that somehow, someone will bring it to the attention of the emperor," said Haugen. ...

And that's Show Biz. ...
