KILAKILA EMPLOYER SERVICES

Myles Dias has been named business development manager for KilaKila Employer Services. Dias is responsible for generating new accounts and overall sales efforts for the company. He was most recently a senior account manager at the Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii.

LAW OFFICE OF JEAN CHRISTENSEN

Jean Christensen, former journalist, has launched her own law practice, specializing in consumer bankruptcy law and bankruptcy litigation. She was a reporter at The Honolulu Advertiser, Honolulu Star-Bulletin and the Honolulu bureau of The Associated Press between 1995 and 2001, and served for two years as law clerk for federal bankruptcy Judge Robert Faris. She also was an associate attorney at the commercial litigation firm Steven Chung and Associates.

Her Bishop Street office is in Suite 3312 of Century Square.

HAWAII BUSINESS ROUNDTABLE

Gary Kai has been appointed executive director of the Hawaii Business Roundtable. He is former vice president of Towne Development of Hawaii Inc. and also served as general manager of HomeStreet Bank, senior vice president of First Hawaiian Bank, president and chief operating officer of Finance Factors Ltd. and president and chief operating officer of Finance Mortgage Ltd.

MEETING PROFESSIONALS INTERNATIONAL

Philip Richardson, president of Current Affairs event planning and production company, has been named president of Meeting Professionals International Aloha Chapter. He will be responsible for establishing long- and short-term goals, objectives and priorities; providing leadership and direction; and overall governance of the organization.

HAWAII'S PLANTATION VILLAGES

Hawaii's Plantation Villages has named its 2009 board of directors. They are: president, Faith Evans; first vice president, Deanna Espinas; second vice president, Loretta Pang; third vice president, Richard Oshiro; secretary, Robert Castro; treasurer, Glenn Ifuku; and past president, Richard Hirata.

Board members are: Jason Chang, Shirley Colon, Tricia Evans, Pam Funai, Toni Lee, Domingo Los Banos, Melvin Makii, Dave Mueller, Steven Pang, Amy Sakuma, Shari Tamashiro, Jeffrey Ventura, Yoshiko Yamauchi and Stephen Yuen.

ASTON HOTELS & RESORTS

Aston Hotels & Resorts has announced the following promotions at two Maui properties:

Scott Pauli, now general manager of Aston Maui Lu, is a hospitality industry veteran with experience in both the front office and housekeeping.

Charlotte Caster, now assistant general manager of Aston Maui Hill, has served as reservations manager, front office manager and rooms division manager at various properties.

HILTON WAIKIKI PRINCE KUHIO

The Hilton Waikiki Prince Kuhio has hired Janelle Cram as the director of sales and marketing. She brings to the team a blend of talents that include transitioning brands, repositioning hotels, increasing market share, public relations, e-commerce promotions, staff training and successful team building.

AQUA HOTELS & RESORTS

Aqua Hotels & Resorts has announced the promotion of three employees:

Lendy Ma is now general manager of the Aqua Waikiki Beachside Hotel. A native of Hong Kong, she has held the position of hotel manager for Aqua Palms & Spa and Continental Surf Hotel, and was assistant food and beverage controller for Sheraton Hotels & Resorts.

Susan Weander is now general manager of The Equus and the Waikiki Marina Hotel. She will also continue to oversee revenue management, sales and marketing for both properties.

Deanne Takara was promoted from assistant general manager to manager of Aqua Waikiki Wave hotel. Takara has been with Aqua since 2006 and was most recently assistant general manager.
