MLB: Phils’ Moyer disheartened by demotion to bullpen

Associated Press

CHICAGO — A disappointed Jamie Moyer says he feels misled by Philadelphia Phillies management over his demotion to the bullpen.

The 46-year-old pitcher said Tuesday he feels “a little disheartened.”
Moyer was taken out of the rotation to make room for Pedro Martinez to start Wednesday against the Chicago Cubs.
Moyer leads the World Series champion Phillies in wins this season with a 10-9 record despite a 5.47 ERA. The left-hander is a 22-year veteran.
The Phillies lead the NL East. Moyer sat in the stands at Wrigley Field while making his statement a couple hours before gametime.
