Mission Houses Museum (447-3910, www.missionhouses.org) will present a free Keiki Talk Story program suitable for ages 4 to 6 from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday. Featuring the always-popular Mother Goose, kids will hear classic nursery rhymes in English and Hawaiian, and then make one of the characters to take home with them. Themes vary for this family-friendly program, which repeats every second Thursday of the month.

That's not the only free program the museum offers. At 1 p.m. each Wednesday, stop by to see a working replica of an early 19th-century printing press in action, and take home a printed souvenir. The first Saturday of the month brings the art of lauhala weaving to the museum. Visitors are welcome to observe from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

If you'd like to explore the Mission Houses Museum while you're there, admission is $10 for adults, $6 for keiki. Don't forget to ask about using their free family packs, with hands-on activities for everyone in the family.

Get tips on cheap or free family fun each Tuesday from the authors of our new blog, On the Cheap. Together they write the blogs www.HonoluluOnTheCheap.com and www.BigIslandOnTheCheap.com.

‘FRIENDS FOR CHANGE’

DISNEY STARS' NEW SONG BENEFITS ENVIRONMENTAL CHARITIES

If your kids are Disney Channel fans, you've probably heard some chatter about "Friends for Change," but in case you didn't follow the instructions to check out the Web site, here's the info:

Disney's "Friends for Change: Project Green" raises money for environmental charities by bringing together some of today's hottest tween idols — Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato — and having them record a song together.

"Send it On," is available for 99 cents on iTunes starting today and the video will premiere Friday on the Disney Channel and Saturday at www.Disney.com.
