Panel seeking nominations for federal judge position

The Hawaii Federal Judicial Selection Commission is asking the public to nominate names for the state's next federal judge.

U.S. Sens. Daniel Inouye and Daniel Akaka will make recommendations to President Obama that will come through the list submitted by the commission. Hawai'i is one of only 10 states that have developed a merit selection process.

All names and completed application forms must be delivered or mailed no later than Sept. 4 to: Chairman, Hawaii Federal Judicial Selection Commission, Suite 2100 ASB Tower, 1001 Bishop Street, Honolulu, HI 96813.
