Willie K closes out Waikiki Aquarium's summer concert series

The Waikiki Aquarium’s popular “Ke Kani O Ke Kai” summer concert series will close with a finale sunset performance by Willie K. tomorrow. The evening concert on the aquarium lawn will also feature signature food items from Hula Grill Waikiki and access to the aquarium’s galleries and exhibits. Funds raised through “Ke Kani O Ke Kai” will support a new Hawaiian Streams exhibit at the aquarium.

Complementing the family-style event, Hula Grill Waikiki, which specializes in Hawaii Regional Seafood, will offer a sunset picnic on the aquarium lawn. Menu items will include a pupu option of Hawaiian Ceviche. Entrée options include Lilikoi Hoisin Braised Beef, Baby Back Ribs with Mango BBQ Sauce, Mochiko Chicken, and Roasted Vegetable Herb Lasagna. A Da Kine Combination Plate will also be available, featuring the Baby Back Ribs and Mochiko Chicken. All entrees will be accompanied by Jasmine Rice and Pineapple Coleslaw. Hula Grill Macaroni and Cheese will be offered for keiki. An Island Mango Crisp will be available for dessert.

Concert-goers are encouraged to arrive early for optimal seating on the lawn and are welcome to bring personal low-lying beach chairs. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the concert will begin at 7 p.m. The evenings are scheduled to conclude at 8:30 p.m. Aquarium galleries and exhibits will remain open throughout the evening.

The concert is priced at $25 for adults, $10 for children aged 7 to 12, and is free for children 6 and under ($18/$7 for Friends of Waikiki Aquarium “FOWA” members). The concert is currently sold out, but stand-by tickets may be available on the day of beginning at 6:30 p.m. For additional ticketing information, call the Waikiki Aquarium Membership Office at 440-9015.
