DBEDT releases 2008 state Data Book online

The state Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism has released the 2008 version of the State of Hawaiçi Data Book on its Web site.

The statistical look at the state contains 801 tables and includes such facts as more than 53 percent of legal permanent residents admitted to the state last year were from the Philippines and automobile registrations fell in all for counties compared to the prior year.
The data also show that the federal government spent $15 billion in Hawaii in fiscal 2008, a 6.7 percent increase over the previous fiscal year.
