Erratic driving brings arrest on car theft, drug charges

Advertiser Staff

A 56-year-old Wai'anae man was arrested in Waipahu Monday after police found him driving a car that had been reported stolen.

A patrol officer reported seeing the man driving in an unsafe manner and pulled him over about 2:15 p.m. near the intersection of Farrington Highway and Leoku Street.

A check of the car's license plate showed that a man had reported it stolen.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of unauthorized control of a vehicle.

After the car and driver were searched, the driver was also arrested on suspicion of methamphetamine trafficking, three counts of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of detrimental drugs.
