Schuler Family Foundation presented a $20,000 check to Children’s Alliance of Hawai‘i yesterday during a presentation in downtown Honolulu. The donation is the last payment of a $100,000 pledge the Schuler Family Foundation made to the organization over the past five years. The donation has been used to support the Children’s Alliance of Hawai‘i’s capital campaign to purchase the organization’s headquarters.

“The Schuler Family Foundation is proud to support such a worthy organization as the Children’s Alliance of Hawai‘i, as they truly are able to make a positive difference and help those that have been victimized at a young age,” said Jim Schuler, president and founder of the Schuler Family Foundation. “Their mission to offer hope to sexually abused children reflects our efforts to provide care to local youth and those in need.”

On average there are 900 new cases of child sexual abuse a year on O‘ahu alone. The Children’s Alliance of Hawai‘i has been able to provide its services to 700 children annually, with the help of community support.
