Flash flood watch for Oahu, Kauai canceled

Advertiser Staff

The flash flood watch for Oahu, Kauai and Niihau was canceled around 4 p.m. today

Moisture associated with the remnants of Felicia is moving west of the state and the threat of additional heavy rainfall has diminished.
Satellite radar images earlier today showed the system has moving past most of the state, but heavy clouds moving into Kauai.
Kauai County reported no flooding this morning, but Hanalei School was closed for the day as a precaution.
“We’re seeing heavy clouds and it’s kind of drizzly,” said Mark Marshall, Kauai Emergency Management Officer. “We’re hoping everything will clear out by this afternoon.”
Marshall said the only problems reported overnight were "nuisance kind of stuff — some ponding and debris on the roads."
The Big Island and Maui County are no longer under weather watches of any kind, and Maui could even see some sunny conditions this afternoon.
