A taste of twitter from ‘Slava’s Snowshow’

Advertiser Staff

“The show is long over and people are still in the Hawaii Theatre playing with the snow and the giant floating balloons.”

The above graph is one of TGIF entertainment writer Kawehi Haug’s live tweets from the last night’s opening night of “Slava’s Snowshow” at Hawaii Theatre.
The tweets — which she’ll be doing again Saturday from Chef Mavro's Julia Child-inspired dinner and also did at Tuesday’s No Doubt concert — give you an idea of what the show is like in case you missed it or if you’re wondering whether to go.
In this case, the tweets give “Slava” a huge thumbs up.
“Slava’s Snowshow” runs through Aug. 23 and tickets can still be purchased at the Hawaii Theatre box office, by phone at 528-0506 or online at hawaiitheatre.com/boxoffice.html.
The following are some of Kawehi’s tweets — and her followers — from opening night. Follow her at Chef Mavro's at twitter.com/Kawehi.
Some twitter highlights from Kawehi:

— Oh! Here they come! Clowns want to play!
— Oh whoa! Clowns climbing over rows of people, spraying us with water.
— The clowns just grabbed a woman from her seat and carried her away.
— Three rows from the stage and we're enveloped in faux fog.
—There are clowns sitting in people's laps, climbing over people's heads. Aaaahhh rain!
— The audience is literally shrieking with delight.
— O. M. G. How much more endearing could these clowns be!? I'm smitten.
— There's something about made-up clown language...I can't stop laughing. It's getting ridiculous!
— Looking around, I think there some people who don't get it. How is that even possible?
— There is no way to describe what just happened. Seriously spectacular!
— Intermission already? But I like the clowns! Bring back the clowns!
— Interactive intermission rules: if you don't wanna play, tell the clown “no!” That what the sign says.
— Clowns in giant beach balls...it's much cooler than I'm making it sound.
— faux snow fight. I'm covered in the stuff.
— Ladies with cleavage beware, faux snow will accumulate down there. Fair warning.
—@hawaiiadobo : Splashed on, snowed on, hit on the head numerous times with balloons...loved it!
— There's a reason this production has sold out shows for years...it's really great.
