Seminar to focus on stimulus

Advertiser Staff

SCORE of Hawaii will hold a seminar tomorrow at the Ala Moana Hotel, designed to help Hawai'i's small-business owners tap into the $787 billion in economic stimulus money approved by Congress.

The seminar titled "Contracting Opportunities for Small Business — Capturing Your Share of the Stimulus Dollars" will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the hotel's Hibiscus Room. There will be speakers from various federal, state, city and county agencies, as well as a local business owner who has received one of the largest government contracts in Hawai'i.

"It's a daunting task to figure out how to qualify and even how to begin going after contracts. Our overall goal is to help small businesses in Hawai'i succeed," said Bob Wilkinson, former president and CEO of Grace Pacific Corp., who now serves as a SCORE business counselor.

"The best way to help right now, when Hawai'i small businesses need it most, was to bring the foremost experts together to simplify the process for obtaining stimulus projects."

Admission is $60. For more information, call 547-2700 or visit www.hawaiiscore.org.
