The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation has given a $25,000 grant to Catholic Charities for its Lanakila Multi-Purpose Senior Center.

The donation will help keep the center open.

The program has suffered several funding cuts.

"We are very grateful for community supporters like the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation. Their gift will help ensure that Lanakila Multi-Purpose Senior Center continues its operations in the community," said Jerry Rauckhorst, Catholic Charities Hawai'i president and chief executive officer.

The center serves about 2,000 seniors, ages 60 and older.
