A girl believed to be in her mid-teens has died in an apparent drowning at a swimming pool at Hope Chapel in Kapolei.

The girl was pulled from the pool just before 2 p.m. Bystanders performed CPR until paramedics and Honolulu Fire Department personnel arrived shortly thereafter, said Emergency Medical Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic.
The girl was transported in critical condition to an area hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
