Eckankar Spiritual Fair Aug. 29 at Blaisdell

    "Is There More to Life Than What You See," is the theme of Eckankar's 2009 Spiritual Fair, scheduled 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 29 at the Neal Blaisdell Center Exhibition Hall, second floor.

    Eckankar is a non-denominational spiritual organization that blends East and West; Buddhism, Hinduism and Christianity.

    Sessions will include "Have You Had a Spiritual Experience," 11 a.m.; a past lives discussion, noon; dreams workshop, 1 p.m.; soul travel (heightening of consciousness attained through meditation, contemplation etc.), 2 p.m., and "creating your own Dream Dictionary," 2:30 p.m.

    NEW ANGLICAN GROUP INVITES PUBLIC TO SERVICES

    The public is invited to services of a new Orthodox Anglican congregation forming in Honolulu.

    The church, Christ the Foundation Anglican Church, will hold services at 8 a.m. tomorrow and Aug. 23 at the Pohai Nani Good Samaritan Retirement Residence auditorium, 45-090 Namoku St., in Kane'ohe.

    The Orthodox Anglican Church is the American branch of the Orthodox Anglican Communion global Christian movement committed to the historic faith in the Anglican tradition.

    Officiating at the services will be the Rev. Christopher King Cole, a church "planter" with the Anglican Mission in America. (Church planting is a process that results in a new Christian church being established.)

    He is retired from St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Morehead, N.C.

    Breakfast tomorrow and a brunch Aug. 23 will follow services.

    Anyone wanting to learn more about the new Orthodox Anglican movement or congregation is welcome.
