Man arrested following break-in at Maili home

Advertiser Staff

A 30-year-old homeless man was arrested in Maili this morning after he allegedly broke into the home of 57-year-old woman who had obtained a restraining order against him.

The woman told police the man got into her home shortly before 2 a.m. and told her he wanted to talk to her. She said she told the man she was going to call the police, and he took the phone away from her.
Police did not say what the relationship is between the man and the woman.
The man ran from the home before officers arrived, but he was found on St. John’s Road and arrested on suspicion of unauthorized entry into a dwelling, violating a temporary restraining order, interfering with someone making a 911 emergency telephone call and on three unrelated warrants.
