School supplies sought for homeless students

Advertiser Staff

Aloha United Way’s Society of Young Leaders have partnered with Hard Rock Cafe and Wet ‘n’ Wild Hawaii to collect school supplies for homeless students on Oçahu.

Donations may be dropped off at the Hard Rock Cafe’s Honolulu restaurant through Aug. 31. In exchange for a donation, the restaurant will give a 20 percent off coupon and Wet ‘n’ Wild will provide a $10-off coupon for admission to the park.
Last year, the AUW Society of Young Leaders distributed more than $8,500 in school supplies to 400 homeless students on Oçahu.
School supplies that are needed include pencil boxes and pouches, backpacks, highlight pens, notebooks, markers, crayons, loose-leaf paper, erasers, pens, folders, scissors, binders and colored pencils.
