Guillermo still moving northwest toward Hawaii

Tropical Storm Guillermo is steadily moving northwest toward Hawaii near 22 mph.
At 5 a.m. today, the center of Guillermo was 530 miles northeast of Hilo and 590 miles east-northeast of Honolulu, the Central Pacific Hurricane Center said.

Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast during the next 36 hours. Guillermo is forecast to gradually weaken after that and turn toward the west over the next 48 hours.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 240 miles from the center in the north semicircle of the storm.

The next advisory will be issued at 11 a.m.
