LOS ANGELES — An attorney for Michael Jackson's mother says she is considering filing a wrongful death lawsuit because of the circumstances surrounding her son's demise.

The attorney, speaking after a court hearing yesterday, said the idea has "been floated" and that the main name that has been mentioned is Dr. Conrad Murray, Jackson's personal physician.

Authorities investigating Jackson's June 25 death have been focusing on Murray and the possibility he may have improperly administered a powerful anesthetic to the pop singer.

Katherine Jackson's concerns over her son's legacy have also left the fate of a proposed tour of his memorabilia in limbo, though King of Pop merchandise will soon be available after her attorneys yesterday withdrew their objections to a merchandising deal.

The songstress born Stefani Germanotta says her visit to Jerusalem will be "an emotional and spiritual experience." In a nod to local fans at a press conference yesterday, Lady Gaga covered her skimpy top with a black leather jacket emblazoned with a Star of David made of silver spikes on the back.

DISNEY'S 'ALICE' STAR VIRGINIA DAVIS DIES

LOS ANGELES — Virginia Davis, who appeared in Walt Disney's pioneering "Alice" films, has died at age 90.

The Walt Disney Co. said Davis passed away at her home Saturday in Corona, Calif., from natural causes.

Davis was hired by Disney in 1923 when he was a struggling filmmaker in Kansas City, Mo., and later worked with him in Hollywood. She was the first of several girls to have the title role in the series of "Alice" comedies that ran from 1923 to 1927. Her moving image was photographed and combined with animated cartoons, predating Mickey Mouse.
