A 28-year-old man was charged last night with attempted murder in connection with the stabbing of a 25-year-old woman Saturday in Mililani.

Delvin Kelley was charged with one count each of second-degree attempted murder, first-degree burglary and first-degree robbery. He remained in police custody in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Kelley was scheduled to make his initial appearance in District Court today. If convicted of the attempted murder charge, Kelley would face a mandatory prison term of life with possibility of parole.

Kelley is charged with breaking into his ex-girlfriend's home in the Melemanu Woodlands complex on Waikalani Place Saturday afternoon. Police said the woman was stabbed several times.

The woman was taken to a hospital in serious condition. Kelley was arrested Monday at the main police station on South Beretania Street.
